Chapter Fourteen

Bebe

“I got a few things I need to handle, but I need you to pack a bag for us,” Scout declares when he wakes up. Christmas was intense. The most intense moment of my life. I didn’t think Scout would open up to me the way he did, but I was happy he’d decided to. He hasn’t since that night, and I don’t push for it either.

“Where are we going?” I take the chance and ask. It’s New Year ’s Eve, and I’m not sure what’s happening.

“Out. Just do it,” Scout growls as he pulls his jeans on. I watch him walk to the dresser and pull out his signature black t-shirt before putting it on. Once his boots and cut are on, he blows out a breath, tugging at his hair. “I’m tryin’, Bebe.”

“I know.” He turns and leaves the room, and I hate it. I hate when he isn’t here, even if he does argue and treat me like shit. I know that’s just who he is. I yawn before climbing out of bed and taking a shower. Once I’m good and ready, I pack a bag before heading outside.

“Where are you goin’?” Krill asks when I spot him walking the same way as me.

“To the clubhouse. What are you doing up so early?”

“Got a run to go on. How’s shit?” Krill asks, coming to walk along next to me. I shrug.

“It’s okay, I guess. Everyone was right about him,” I say softly.

“About what part?”

“That he’s different. More intense than most.”

“Yeah, that he is. He’s possessive of what’s his,” he adds, and I nod. Krill holds the door of the clubhouse open as he smiles and nods for me to head inside. I smile in return, and that was my mistake. Scout’s eyes burn through me. I can feel him before I see him. Glancing around, I find him, his eyes practically blowing smoke. The look on his face causes me to shiver. I wrap my arms around myself when Krill’s hand lands on my shoulder, ushering me forward. It all happens so quickly that I can barely comprehend it all. Scout moves quickly, his fist slamming into Krill’s face. I let out a slight scream before moving away from them. Krill fights back, but Scout is pissed. His body is vibrating with rage and fury. Scout pounds on Krill when I catch Jasper’s eyes. He looks confused before he moves to stop them.

“Knock it the fuck off!” He roars, trying to pull them apart. He whistles, getting the attention of the other guys. They all move, coming to break the fight apart. That’s when shit really changes. Scout shrugs the guys off him turning to face me.

“You! I fuckin’ warned you!” His voice thunders through the room, the pure look of hate in his eyes. He moves closer as my heart slams in my chest. My mouth opens, but words don’t form. I’ve seen him pissed, seen him angry, but this, this is something more. His hands wrap around my throat, and not like he usually does either.
